⟺ Bilateral Factor Applied: You have ratings on both sides of the same extremity. The VA adds a 10% bonus to the combined value of those ratings before merging with the rest.
2
Your household and family
Dependents can affect compensation for combined ratings of 30% or higher. Share only what feels relevant to you — this information simply helps refine the estimate.
How many dependent children do you have under age 18?
Children ages 18–24 in a qualifying school program?
Marital status?
How many dependent parents do you have?
3
Your ability to work
Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability (TDIU) may allow compensation at the 100% rate if your service-connected conditions make it difficult or impossible to maintain full-time employment.
Are your service-connected conditions affecting your ability to work full time?
Your current rating does not meet the TDIU threshold (60%+ single disability, or 70%+ combined with one condition at 40%+). TDIU cannot be applied.
